Whether Vein

 

Sharlatan’s Whether Vein (short for Whethersoever) helped us when choosing passages underground because it was attuned to dei drafts. Its blade was a slice of heavenly sky and those of us traveling with him could see in the dark. Not because the blade was glowing. The rooms just appeared to our eyes as if we were out and above on an overcast day. Creatures lurked about, believing themselves unseen. It was pitch black. The likelihood we would be eaten grew, if not for the sword.
