Grem-Lens

Gremlins aren’t supposed to be seen. It’s one of their deepest fears. That’s why, when one of their own commited the taboo of actually repairing things, he was cursed to be forever un-unnoticeable.

Now he’s the tallest person in every room. The color of his scales and long mane of hair tend to be at odds with the wallpaper. Protruding spikes flash and strobe like marquee lights. His fins can sound alarms. And for the beings who don’t rely so much on sight—he can even get attention with smells.

And things tend to happen so that he’s always in the spotlight (sometimes literally). He bumps into people, or things fall and break loudly when he passes by. Nothing seems able to conceal him. Hiding places never work out.

He’s had to deal with the phobia of all the eyes on him, but it’ll never feel 100% okay. He’s only at peace when he’s away from the crowds (or maybe with his friends).

As was mentioned before, he’s a singular gremlin in that he has not desire to destroy or ruin. He loves built things and especially loves buildings. That’s why he’s so dedicated to the Action Pastures. There’s no end to the structures he can admire and learn from.

Heavier for Grem-Lens than the curse, the gremlins also protected themselves by erasing his memories about them; even memories of his family. But the gremlins have never tampered with his creations and he takes this as a sign that they may one day forgive his transgressions, allowing him a return to his family and home.
