Surrogrey

 

The Whether Vein’s blade, which is a shard of sky, creates the Surrogrey. This magic allows those in the Whether Vein’s party to ‘see’ in even pitch black. Caverns or closets appear lit as if outside, under an overcast sky. This is much better than lighting one’s way with, say, a lantern, since the intensity can be overwhelming near it, but inadequate in the far corners of a large cavern. The Surrogrey’s illusion of light is more even, and also won’t give your position away to potential threats. Those excluded from it’s magic are unaware that it’s users are ‘seeing’ in the dark.
